A Perfect Dog-Friendly Autumn Break in Aberystwyth: Hot Tubs, Mountains & Devils Bridge! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🐕

Hello adventure gang!

We’ve just got back from the most magical few days in Mid Wales, and I couldn’t wait to share it with you all. If you’re looking for a proper relaxing-yet-adventurous break where you can take your four-legged best mate, stop scrolling, because this one is spot on!

We stayed at Paith Holiday Cottages just outside Aberystwyth, and honestly… wow. We had our own gorgeous stone cottage with a PRIVATE HOT TUB on the decking (yes, bubbling away under the stars every single night 🌟).

The real game-changer? They’re 100% pet-friendly, so Luna came along and lived her absolute best life. She had fields to zoom around in, treats on arrival, and even her own doggy bed and bowls waiting for her. We can’t recommend Paith enough; the owners are lovely, the cottages are immaculate, and that hot tub after a day of walking is pure heaven.

(We stayed in “Ty Mawr”; it slept 4 + Luna perfectly!)

While we were there we packed in some proper Welsh adventures:

🔸 Devil’s Bridge & the famous waterfalls

We did the longer waterfall walk (about 2 hours) and tackled the steep steps down to the punchbowl; it’s breathtaking. Luna loved all the smells and even posed for photos on the old bridge!

🔸 A big 13 km mountain hike above the Rheidol Valley

Muddy boots, epic views, sheep everywhere, and that feeling of being properly in the wild. The autumn colours this year were insane!

Elan Valley scenic drive & dams – We did the full loop, stopped at Pen-y-Garreg dam, had a picnic, and let Luna splash in the streams. If you’ve never done this drive, add it to your bucket list immediately.

Coffee stops in Aberystwyth, sunset on the promenade, fish & chips, and then back to the cottage to watch the stars from the hot tub with a glass of wine… it was one of those trips that just resets your soul.

I’ve put the trip into a vlog (with plenty of Luna cameos of course!). Watch it here:

If you’re thinking of heading to Wales with your dog (or even without!), this part of Ceredigion is an absolute gem. Peaceful, stunning, and so many walks straight from your door.
